Influence Sound: Brothers, The Black Keys

Out of sight! Brothers is my favorite album of the year so far. It's the sixth outing from The Black Keys and they never fail to impress. Overall the album sounds fuller than previous ones, with more bass and keys. The mood set is spot-on. Patrick Carney's drums sound amazing, especially on The Go Getter, while Dan Auerbach's guitars remind me of some ol' Hendrix for sure. And that falsetto? Where's that been hiding? Some early favorites include Ten Cent Pistol, Everlasting Light, Sinister Kid, The Go Getter, Unknown Brother, etc. The list goes on. The deluxe CD version looks like it's worth the price, featuring a 56 page hardbound book with some wonderful photography. Get some here. Me? I'm going with the vinyl.

Incredible sound for a 2 man band. I saw them just a few weeks ago in Miami and Brothers is on my list of favorite albums too. Nice website! I am bookmarking it.
