Where It All Began
When I was a wee little tike, probably around the age of 6 or 7, my Dad gave me an old book on lettering. The book was filled with all kinds of different typefaces. The book and its contents quickly became an obsession. I suddenly had to draw all of them. Anytime I was creating something that required letters, they had to meticulously drawn, simple letters definitely wouldn’t do.
Looking back now, this book was really my first introduction to typography and design. I decided to post pages from this old book that inspired me as a young boy to start down the path of this wonderful world of graphic design. Thanks Dad.

Dana!
I don't remember when or where I got that book, but it was way before the days of computers and word processing. I think I got it while still in high school when I was first interested in being a commercial artist. I mainly used the book for ideas for school posters, science project displays, and things like that.
Little did I realize the purchase of that book would later impact the career choice of my oldest son! I am happy and pleased to see what a talented and skilled graphic designer and artist you have become! I am proud of you! Keep up the good work!
